THE CITY OF PUNO
Geographic location: The department of Puno is located to the Southeast of the country in the plateau of the Collao to borders of the Titikaka, the navigable lake highest of the world, has an altitude of 3.827 m.a.s.l. Its capital is the city of Puno, folkloric capital par excellence of Peru, the City of Puno was founded in 1666, its population of origin mainly Aymara. Puno has a varied climate, with temperatures that oscillate between 0°C and 13°C. The season of rains is of September until April.
TITIKAKA LAKE. Titikaka lake is one of the most beautiful and mysterious places of America. Its waters bathe and conserve a mainly indigenous population, that still the traditions keep from the Empire Inca. Geographic location. Located in a shared zone for Peru and Bolivia, this navigable lake is distinguished by the great dimensions that it has: a surface approximately of 8.490 km2 and one depth of 280 meters
