THE CULTURE OF TIWANAKU

The most important archaeological place in the country, due to their extension and magnificence. Tiwanaku, formerly called Taypi k´ala that in language Aymara, it means: Central Stone.
The culture of Tiwanaku as for the chronology dates between 1.500 B.C. in its beginnings and 1.200 A .C. in its extinction. Tiwanaku contemplates 3 periods in the evolution of its culture that are: the period Villager, Urban and Expansible. Tiwanaku is to 71 Km . of the city of La Paz ; in the route La Paz - Desaguadero (Opposite Bolivia - Peru), the trip is asphalted by lorry and it lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Tiwanaku is to a height of 3.845 m .a.s.l.

TOUR TO TIWANAKU (CULTURE PRE - INKA)

Daily departures.
Duration of the Tour: 8 hours.
This circuit begins with the picking up of the tourists of their hotels of the city of La Paz , to go through a highway asphalted Tiawanaku, located to 72 Km . of the city of La Paz , arrival and we make the visit to the Museums "Lithic and Ceramic" and later on we visit the Archaeological place of Tiawanaku and their main ceremonial centres as: The Pyramid of Akapana, Semi-underground Temple, Temple of Kalasasaya, The gate of the Sun, etc. The time of the guided visit is of 2 and a half hours, to the finish of our visit we will delight of the typical lunch and later on return to La Paz.

TOUR TO TIAWANAKU WITH CONNECTION TO DESAGUADERO - PUNO

This circuit begins with the picking up of the tourists of its hotels of the city of La Paz , to go through a highway asphalted Tiawanaku, located to 72 Km . of the city of the La Paz , arrival and we make the visit of the Museums "Lithic and Ceramic" and later on we visit the Archaeological place of Tiawanaku and their main ceremonial centres as: The Pyramid of Akapana, Semi-underground Temple, Temple of Kalasasaya, The Door of the Sun, etc. The time of the guided visit is of 2 and a half hours, to the finish of our visit we will delight of the typical lunch, later we have the connection to the Frontier of Desaguadero and private transport to the city of Puno (Peru)
