The department of Tarija is located to the south
of the Republic of Bolivia, it has a total extension
of 37.623 km. square and a population of 291.407
inhabitants (census 1992). It has by capital to
the beautiful city of Tarija (1.866 m.a.s.l.).
Account with 6 provinces and 157 corners, is also
called the capital of Bolivian Andalusia, where
are the highest vineyards of the world, which
wines are known and appreciated not only in Bolivia
but also abroad. The department of Tarija is influenced
by mountain ranges with small elevations.
Tarija is recognized by its valiant inhabitants
who at the top of the caudillo “Chapaco”
Eustaquio “Moto” Méndez, rose
against the realistic troops year 1817. At the
