CLIMBING HUAYNA POTOSI (6,080 M.A.S.L.)

The Huayna Potosí (6,080 m.a.s.l.), it’s located to 25 Km. from La Paz. It is the converged mountain. Its normal route is easily accessible for the highway La Paz - Zongo.
The Huayna Potosí unites the line of the Real mountain range for a smaller but more abrupt chain of picks. The Huayna Potosí presents a special attractiveness, an aesthetic attraction for the mountaineer. In these last years, the normal road has been climbed hundreds of times by season, what is comparable to the Huascarán in the White Mountain range of Peru.

PROGRAM OF 3 Days / 2 Nights
ITINERARY:

Day 01.- 09:00 a.m. Pick up of the Hotel, and transport La Paz - Huayna Potosí Refuge 4,720 m.a.s.l. (Camp Bases). After the lunch in the afternoon we will ascend the Old Glacier to be able to practice climbing and to be possible to acclimatize.
Return to field bases (Huayna Potosí Refuge) and accommodation.

Day 02. - Ascent Huayna Potosí Refuge - Argentinean Camp (5,200 m.a.s.l.)

Day 03. - Escalade, Argentinean Camp - Summit of Huayna Potosí.
Then we will descend to the field and Transport to La Paz.
