COPACABANA– ISLAND OF THE SUN - TITICACA LAKE

Copacabana: At 158 kilometers by highway from the city of La Paz, at an altitude of 3841 meters, rises the beautiful town of Copacabana. In the town is found the famous Sanctuary of the Black Virgin, an image carved in 1592 from maguey wood by Francisco Tito Yupanqui, a native artist descended from the Incas.
The energy and mystery of Lake Titicaca draw to this sacred place thousands of Andean pilgrims and tourists.

The Calvary: This is a rock path which leads up a little mountain, which is climbed by pilgrims in honor of the Virgin and as a penance for their sins. Arriving at the end of the path, it is possible to appreciate a beautiful view of the Lake

TOUR LA PAZ - COPACABANA - ISLAND OF THE SUN - LA PAZ

Duration: (FULL DAY)
This tour begins with the picking up of the tourists of its hotels to go through a highway asphalted to the town of Copacabana, located to 151 Km. of the city of the La Paz, an approximate trip of 3 and a half hours, the road skirts the Titikaka Lake, with an impressive view of the Real Mountain range, arrival to the peninsula of Copacabana and it visits the Brown Virgin's Sanctuary.
Afternoon Tour to the Island of the Sun:
After lunch at 13:30 p.m. Begin our tour to the Island of the Sun (Shared Craft), Crossing the lake for approximately an hour and a half until arriving to the South part of the Island of the Sun, place where we visit the Archaeological remains of "Pilkokaina - Temple of the Inca, a religious centre, later on a small walk for the perrons of built Yumani for our ancestors until arriving to the Youth's source, there you will be able to become purified taking some sacred water, is believed that this source is the eternal youth's source, and we will also enjoy the beauty of that beautiful Incan garden. At hours 16:15 p.m. Return to the population of Copacabana arriving at hours 18:00 p.m. to take the bus Copacabana - La Paz. (Local bus)

After the breakfast we have the company to Copacabana for approximately of 2 hours, we will visit to the Brown Virgin's Sanctuary, the local fair of Copacabana and later on we will ascend to the Calvary, place where we will appreciate to those "Yatiris - Amautas Aymaras and Quechua" Who they bless and they invoke protection to each family
At hours 12:00 p.m. Have our lunch, stops then take the bus to the city of Puno (Peru) or in their case to return to the city of La Paz

Day 02. - VISITS THE NORTH SIDE OF ISLAND OF THE SUN - THE SACRED TEMPLE OF THE CHINKANA
After the breakfast we have a soft trekking for an Inca road of the South part - To the North part of the Island for approximately of 2 and a half hours, excellent opportunity to admire of the pretty landscape of the Real Mountain range of the Andes and of the existent Islands around the Island of the Sun, arrival to the archaeological complex but spectacular of the Island "Chinkana, but well-known as the Labyrinth" and "Sacred Rock" Sacred Place where relates the myths and legends that there was born the Star Sun and the cradle of the Inca empire with Manco Kapac and Ocllo founders of this Empire and of the "Qosqo", after our visit we will descend to the town of Challapampa place where we will delight the typical lunch of the area and in the afternoon return to Copacabana, arrival and accommodation in the hotel.

Hours: 08:00 a.m. after the breakfast we will go to the jetty and take the craft for the Islands, crossing the lake for approximately one hour until arriving to the South part of the Island of the Sun, location where we visit the Archaeological remains of "Pilkokaina - Temple of the Inca, a religious center, later on a small walk for the perrons of built Yumani for our ancestors until arriving to the Youth's source, there you will be able to become purified taking some sacred water, it’s believed that this source is the eternal youth's source, and we will also enjoy the beauty of that beautiful Incan garden and later on we will continue in the same craft toward to the North Part of the Island to visit “Chinkana and the sacred rock”. There, in the north part we will have lunch and in the afternoon we continue our trip to the Island of The Moon, in the north part of the Island it is the archaeological remains of “Iñac Uyu” temple dedicated to the cult of the Moon, also considered as “Ajllawasi” or House of the Virgins of the Sun, after our visit we return to the Island of the Sun and spend the night, hostel / Hotel.

Day 03. - ISLAND OF THE SUN – COPACABANA – LA PAZ OR PUNO.
After breakfast we will take the private craft to return to Copacabana at midday we have the lunch and at 13:30p.m. Bus Copacabana – La Paz or Puno.
